A SPECIAL event will take place in Cardenden, on Sunday May 7, to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
Thanks to the support of Bowhill Highland Games’ Committee, the congregation of Auchterderran Kinglassie Parish Church is holding a Mini Highland Games in the church grounds, at Woodend Road.
Church members, Margaret and Don Campbell, who played an important role in the re-establishment of Bowhill Games three years ago, were delighted to come up with the idea of holding a mini games in the church grounds as part of the village’s coronation celebrations.
Said Don: “We plan to have a whole raft of races for children, and there will also be various other Highland Games events for youngsters, including tossing the caber!
“As King Charles is patron of the Scottish Highland Games Association, it is fitting that we are able to put on this small event for his coronation.”
The event will start at 2pm and also taking part will be this year’s Chieftain of Bowhill Highland Games, which takes place in September, Rosemary Wallace.
