A MAN has died after being hit by a train in Fife.
Emergency services raced to the scene at Kinghorn Railway Station just before 5pm yesterday (Thursday).
A 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, Police Scotland has confirmed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Thursday, 20 April, we received a report of a person struck by a train at Kinghorn Railway Station, Burntisland.
"Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"The death is being treated as unexplained but it is not believed to be suspicious.”
