ARMED police were called after reports that a man was in possession of a weapon in Lochgelly.
Officers raced to Halbeath Park and Ride on Sunday evening and photos posted on social media show armed police gathered at a Citylink bus bound for Edinburgh shortly after 7.30pm.
Police have now confirmed that there was "no criminality" after the person was first spotted in Lochgelly's Reid Street.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received reports of a man believed to be in possession of a weapon on Reid Street in Lochgelly around 7pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
“Officers attended and the man was traced a short time later at Halbeath Park and Ride.
“Further enquiries were carried out and no criminality was established. Suitable advice was given to the man and there was no further police action.”
