A 53-year-old man has been jailed for shouting racist abuse at a shop worker in Cowdenbeath.
Kenneth Murray, of Meadowfield, Cowdenbeath, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court by video link from prison.
He admitted that on October 12, 2021, at High Street, he shouted and swore at the shop worker and made racist remarks to him.
Depute fiscal Amy Sneddon said that at around 10pm Murray entered the shop and started shouting.
He confronted the shopkeeper and went around the counter continuing to shout and swear, calling him a “black b******”.
The court was told the location was a shop in a service station and Murray was upset about having earlier been accused of setting fire to a truck in the area.
Sheriff Charles Macnair jailed Murray for 160 days.
