TWO youths have been charged after buildings in the Cowdenbeath area were tarnished with graffiti relating to Celtic Football Club.
The Times told you online on Friday night that a number of properties had been vandalised with spray paint.
‘Mon the Celts’ and ‘Mon the Celtic’ wording was visible at two locations, whilst other markings have been pictured elsewhere.
The Times understands that the offences were in the High Street area, as well as at Cowdenbeath Golf Club.
Local police officers had said they were following a positive line of enquiry.
On Monday afternoon, they provided an update with Police Scotland Cowdenbeath stating on Twitter that two youths had been charged in connection with the vandalism.
Officers stated: “Officers from our community team have traced the persons responsible for vandalising a number of properties in Cowdenbeath during the early hours of the Friday, March 31, and two youths have been charged.”
The Times asked Police Scotland for more information and, in response, it emerged that the youths were both male teenagers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Two male youths, aged 15 and 16 have been charged in connection with several vandalisms in the Cowdenbeath area.
“A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Assessor.”
