A 90 year-old Glencraig pensioner, Patrick Tighe, of Garry Park, had his life savings stolen when a leather wallet containing £180 was taken from him. His grandson, Thomas Smith, offered a reward for information which would see the wallet returned.

March 8 1998 The publication of far reaching proposals to put the heart back into Lochgelly included the demolition of blocks of flats in Berry Street and Bolan Square.
Police were appealing for information and looking for a teenager who assaulted and robbed his victim in Hill of Beath.
The new A92 regional road, a section of dual carriageway between Crossgates and Kirkcaldy, was set to open on Friday March 27.
