A special meeting of the Lochgelly Magistrates and Police Judges was held when means were discussed of dealing with the problems arising from the activities of ‘evil-intentioned’ young people who roam the streets of the town.

Cowdenbeath Town Council heard that there was now every prospect that Fife would remain a council under local government re-organisation thanks to a ‘marvellous fight’ by the county council.

The membership of Macainsh Church, Lochgelly, voted unanimously to call Rev MaryAnn Rennie as their new minister.
The Cowdenbeath Sub Post Office, in Stenhouse Street, was raided and a large sum of money taken.
Fife Council’s West Area Development Committee rejected an application to continue dumping on an area of land at the rear of Gray Park, Cowdenbeath.
