KELTY is set to welcome a new Co-op with Post Office services as it opens its doors today (Wednesday).
The larger store will support 26 local jobs, including the creation of new positions.
It will be open between 6am and 10pm daily.
David Suttie, Co-op store manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store.
"The store has a great look and feel and we are really looking forward to welcoming the community into their new-look Co-op.
"Our aim continues to be to operate at the heart of local life, and make a positive difference in the community.
"I would like to extend a very warm welcome to new customers and, to our existing members, customers and friends of Kelty Co-op - we have worked to develop the range, choice, products and added services to create a really compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently."
The store will be located in a new, purpose built, 3,650 sq ft shop on Cocklaw Street which is 1,200 sq ft larger than the old Main Street site.
Customer car parking is provided, and there is also a free ATM, with Post Office services, Costa coffee dispenser, hot food, and an in-store bakery all within.
Local causes will also receive a funding boost through the Co-op Membership programme, for every pound a customer spends, 2p is added to their personal account balance which Co-op matches and donates to local causes and community organisations.
Currently, the volunteer-led Kelty Community Cinema, The Stephen Lyon Organisation and Cowden in the Community are benefitting from this.
