76 year-old Ballingry man, Alexander Robertson, Kirktoun Park, was taken to Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital, after being involved in an accident with a car in Glencraig Institute car park.

Cowdenbeath Town Council asked Fife County Council to prepare a scheme for the provision of a swimming pool in the town, at a cost of £180,000. It would be part of the new community centre scheme, which is planned north of Central Park.

Trading standards announced that they were to crack down on cowboy car dealers in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area.
A new day care group for elderly and disabled people opened at Hill of Beath Community Centre.
