THE biggest and best Lochgelly Gala wowed thousands as the iconic event returned in style.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family fun day has been a miss to the community in recent years.
However, Sunday marked its highly-anticipated comeback with the sun shining and the Public Park awash with kids and adults of all ages.
A spokesperson for the gala committee told the Times: "We could not have asked for a better day.
"From kids to grandparents, the community really came out in numbers to support us.
"It was the biggest parade we have ever had. The parade and floats were fantastic, with all the attractions packed and busy.
"We are so grateful that people turned up, packed the streets and enjoyed the day.
"After such a bad few years for everyone, it was a great gala to come back to with real community spirit on show.
"There must have been around 3,000 people that turned up.
"After the time and effort of planning the gala and to have the community really come out and lend their support, it felt great.
"It's the most volunteers we have had on the day as well, so we want to thank everyone who did so."
