A SIGNING a day keeps the fans at bay - and eager - for the new season with Cowdenbeath making early window moves.

Maurice Ross has been shaping up his new-look Blue Brazil for the Lowland League and has already recruited no less than seven new faces.

And the Times understands there are many more to come in the coming days.

The club's social media have been teasing arrivals since last week and supporters have since welcomed in a group of young players ready to make their mark at Central Park.

Ross previously told the Times that he wanted Cowdenbeath to be a breeding ground for fresh talent and his signings thus far fit the bill.

One of the standout names is Scott Sinclair, a young striker signed from Bo'ness Athletic.

After the 22-year-old was in lethal form for Bo'ness last season, netting no less than 52 goals across the 2021/22 campaign, Cowden were able to pip other rival clubs to his signature.

On the move, the forward said: "I’m delighted to be here at Cowdenbeath, hopefully I can play a part in taking the club back to where it belongs.

"After a chat with the manager, I was intrigued by his high ambitions for the club and also for me as a player.

"I am really looking forward to getting started!"

Sinclair was the second new recruit, as he followed in 19-year-old defender Mackenzie Lemon.

Formerly of Falkirk, he made nine appearances for the Bairns last year, including seven league starts and two in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

Ross's third acquisition was 23-year-old left-back Jordan Armstrong, previously of Alloa, who is also adapt at playing in the centre of defence.

"Hopefully this season I can help the club bounce straight back up where they should be," he said.

"From a personal point of view I want to play as many games as possible and be given the chance to show where I should be."

David Struthers was the next arrival, and the 18-year-old winger is already being tipped for great things from Ross.

He commented: "When I saw the lad in the exit trials he was the one player on the pitch I thought, 'Oh, I like him!'

"We have ourselves a versatile unit who will improve month on month - of that I have confidence!"#

Lucas Berry is another promising midfielder and is also a Fifer, having attended Woodmill High School in Dunfermline.

After stepping up to the senior ranks as an apprentice with Dunfermline Athletic, he moved to Edinburgh City last season.

Central Park is his new home, and he is "buzzing" to be at the club.

He said: "I am buzzing to be signing with Cowdenbeath as I know the ambitions of the club and the manager.

"This season I want to play my part in a winning team, develop as a player and get more experience under my belt as well as to work well with the manager and players."

It was also announced on Monday night that Ben Weekes was the sixth fresh face making the move to Fife.

Weekes, another winger, was in the youth set-up at Hibs before joining Falkirk last season; he also enjoyed a brief loan spell with Penicuik Athletic.

He said: "After having a few positive chats with the gaffer I’m really looking forward to this campaign and working hard to make sure we have a successful season."

And, just last night (Tuesday), it was revealed that another local lad in the form of Cammy Graham would be joining the club.

Cowdenbeath commenced pre-season training at Lumphinnans before taking the field for his first training stint, Ross finalised the signing of Graham.  

The club said: "Cammy is an attacking midfielder who can play in behind the striker and wide as required. Cammy, who turns 20 in a week or so, was in the Hearts Academy for a number of years before going senior with Dunfermline Athletic. For the last two seasons he has been at Ochilview with Stenhousemuir.

"Club and player were delighted to get things over the line tonight and Cammy readily fits the profile of the type of talented player we want to bring to Central Park.

"We are very glad to have him with us."
