THERE are plans to build 19 affordable homes on the site of the former Valley House care home in Cowdenbeath.
The Fife Council-run establishment on Hill Street was closed and later demolished in 2018 with proposals now in to redevelop the land.
Robertson Homes, in partnership with the local authority, are seeking planning approval for "much needed" affordable homes "with a clear and welcoming sense of place".
The firm explained: "The vision for this new residential development at Valley House, Cowdenbeath, is to provide an attractive housing development for new affordable homes, consisting of four flats and 15 houses, which positively responds to the local setting.
"The proposal is designed to respond to site constraints, development opportunities and the landscape setting."
Robertson Homes said the site was "in an excellent location for prospective residents to easily access a wide range of amenities and services".
The proposals are for a two-storey block of flats and a mix of one, two and three-storey homes which will be detached, semi-detached and terraced units.
If approved, the access to the site would be relocated with the creation of a new street through the site and parking courts.
Also planned are new paths, trees and green spaces, drainage solutions and "biodiversity enhancements".
