A COUPLE from Kelty have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
James and Euphemia Fraser, from Treetop, Clentry, had a lovely Diamond Wedding anniversary celebration on December 23.
Better known as Jimmy and Effie, the pair met at a young farmers club get-together about 1959, and got engaged two years later in June 1961, and married in December the same year.
Effie was from Chamberfield Farm, Townhill, and her three sisters were bridesmaids for the wedding.
Jimmy was from Devilla Forest and his elder brother was best man although he is sadly no longer with us anymore.
They lived for a few years at Railside in Dunfermline as Jimmy, now 81, worked at the Hain & Robertson Factory, while Effie still worked at the family farm.
In November 1963, they moved to the holdings at Blairadam Forest when Jimmy start working with the forestry.
He was there for years until he had a heart attack in his early 50s, then continued working for himself as Forestry, Firewood and Fencing which he still has his hand in today with his son James.
Jimmy likes to potter around his garden growing vegetables to share around with family and neighbours. Effie looked after the animals on the holding and bagged logs and kindling to be delivered, which she is still doing today at the age of 83 and she also worked at the forestry offices too.
They have a daughter Catherine, son-in-law Alan, daughter-in-law Susan and two grandchildren, Jack and Maisie.
