THE family of a teenager who sadly died on Fife's railway line have paid tribute to their "wonderful, funny and thoughtful" son.

It was announced last Wednesday that a person had been struck by a train on the line between Inverkeithing and Cowdenbeath.

It was later revealed that the individual involved in the incident in Dunfermline had died.

The family of Joseph Willcocks, 17, have now paid tribute to their son.

In a statement issued on their behalf by British Transport Police, they said: “On Wednesday 3rd November 2021 our lives changed forever.

"Our precious son and twin brother was taken from us but he will live in our hearts forever.

"Thank you to everyone who has paid tribute to Joseph. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and cards with comforting words.

"We will never forget our wonderful, funny and thoughtful boy.

"A light has gone out in our lives and he will always be our hero.”

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
