A BUSINESS started by a Kelty man has only been open for three months and it's already been nominated for an award.

Ryan McPhee launched Affordable Arts on April 5 and it's in the running to be the Best Art Gallery in Fife, as part of the Scottish Business Awards.

He said: "We have had a great response from customers.

"I had already built up a strong customer base on my Facebook page, selling on local and Scottish selling pages and delivering as far as Inverness.

"It's great to be able to have a gallery now as I can be a part of the local community providing local and Scottish artwork and gifts at affordable prices."

His gallery is on High Street in Methil and Ryan added: "I'm passionate about making art affordable to everyone and for people to enjoy, with prices starting from just £20.

"We also offer a full framing service.

"The artwork I sell is from local and Scottish artists and I also work alongside Andrew and Laura Reid from Reid's Forest Revival, selling local handcrafted items from locally sourced reclaimed timber.

"I stock their products in the gallery, they include beautiful coasters and chopping boards, and in return they stock my artwork in their shop in South Queensferry and that helps us both get our products to the wider audiences.

"The Scottish Business Awards will be decided later in the year and in the meantime I'm just grateful I've been nominated.

"I enjoy watching customers browsing in the gallery and discovering something that they like either for themselves or as a gift. That's what affordable art is all about
