COWDENBEATH 'drifter' Stuart Adsley has been enjoying getting back behind the wheel at the Lochgelly Driftland track after the lockdown gap in activities and has been pleased with his recent performances, including podium finishes.
Driftland, right next to the Lochgelly Raceway stock car track, has been purpose built for all motorsport enthusiasts as a place to experience drifting at every level, from beginners taking their first steps to international competitions, showcasing some of the finest talent the world has to offer.
Driftland is the UKs only purpose built Japanese style drifting arena.
The custom-designed tarmac track has been developed to offer multiple layouts suitable for drift days, drift competitions and track days.
Stuart competes in the British Drift championship having won the Scottish Championship in 2018.
There is two different classes, 'Pro 2 class' and 'Pro Class' and Stuart is currently in 'Pro 2' but he is fast making a lot of good progress.
He was competing last weekend at Lochgelly Driftland. Indeed, he got on the podium coming in 3rd place at the recent event held in the British Championship at Driftland and earned the title last Scot standing!
This then gave him the opportunity to go out with the Pro Class drivers on the Sunday where he qualified 4th and finished in 5th place and again took the title of last Scottish drifter standing.
Said Stuart: "I drive a red BMW E36 Touring car with an engine out of a BMW M3 and it was going well that day.
"It was good to get the opportunity to get a shot at the Pro Class guys and it gives you an idea of how you are doing, and I really enjoyed it."
There were drivers from Ireland, England and anywhere in between in the fields so to be the last Scot standing throughout the weekend gives an idea of how far he could go.
Sponsorship is important for any racer and Stuart is no different and he is delighted with the backing he gets from KDkustomUK, who are based in Lochgelly.
He would welcome anyone who would like to sponsor him to contact him via Daniellebeattie1106@gmail.com
