A FIRE which broke out in Cowdenbeath this morning has been extinguished by firefighters.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have, in the last few minutes, confirmed to the Times that they have brought the incident within Woodend Industrial Estate under control, and that there have been no reported casualties.
The alarm was raised shortly before 8am and seven fire appliances race to the scene at Cowdenbeath Taxi Service.
Local residents on social media reported hearing explosions, causing their homes to shake, as a result of the blaze.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service group manager, David Sharp, said: "We were alerted at 7.59am on Tuesday, August 6 to reports of a fire within a business premises at Woodend Industrial Estate, Cowdenbeath.
"Operations Control mobilised seven fire appliances to the scene, where our crews extinguished the fire which had taken hold within a single-storey vehicle workshop.
"There were no reported casualties.
"We would like to thank our crews and partners for their support in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.
"A single appliance currently remains at the scene to monitor for any remaining hotspots.”
On Facebook, the business posted: "As most will know we have had a fire in our yard this morning.
"All our staff are ok and safe. We are still out working from a remote location and will continue to offer the same service as much as possible.
"Thanks for all the messages of concern."
