A 65-YEAR-OLD woman has appeared in court after causing a drunken disturbance in her street at lunchtime.
Janette Ritchie, of Navitie Park, Ballingry, admitted that on May 2, she shouted, swore and acted aggressively in her street, at Dunfermline police station and on a journey between the two.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf told Dunfermline Sheriff Court that at 12.50pm Ritchie was seen in her front garden heavily intoxicated. She was shouting and swearing, which was heard by a neighbour.
She went into her house but then came back outside and began acting aggressively towards people in the street.
Police were called and when officers arrived Ritchie told them to “F*** off”.
She was eventually arrested and taken to the police station where she was still shouting and swearing.
Defence solicitor Chris Sneddon said his client was a first offender and had been married for 44 years.
He added that she had a history of heavy alcohol consumption and could “remember absolutely nothing” about the incident.
Sheriff Charles MacNair fined Ritchie £180.
