A COWDENBEATH man tracked down a man he believed had sent messages to his girlfriend and rammed into his car.

Dean Brown, 20, of Woodend Place, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on August 4 last year in Kings Road, Park Road and Primrose Lane, all Rosyth, he drove dangerously by pursuing a car driven by the complainer, tailgated his vehicle, rammed it from behind and collided with it causing damage.

Depute fiscal Alistair McDermid said the incident happened at around 12.15am after Brown’s girlfriend had received text messages.

Brown believed the messages were sent by the complainer and he used a location tracking app to track him down in his vehicle.

He found the man’s car being driven in Rosyth and tailgated him along some streets before ramming into him.

Brown then drove off at speeding knocking off a wing mirror on the complainer’s car.

Defence solicitor Joe Mooney conceded: “It was an absolutely ridiculous way to behave.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry banned Brown from driving for two years and imposed a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work. Brown was also fined £500.
