THE Willie Clarke Centre at Lochore Meadows Country Park will be open as usual today despite what appears to be an attack of vandalism at the weekend.
The visitor centre at the Meedies was closed yesterday for a spell after the park centre's innovative water heating system was targeted.
Park manager Ian Laing said: "We are pleased to advise customers that the Willie Clarke Visitor Centre is once again open as usual.
"Some time on Saturday night deliberate damage was caused to one of the pipes in the loch which feed our water source heat pump.
"We were concerned that a temporary shut down of the system may mean we had no hot water this morning for catering and for visitors and staff to wash their hands.
"The back up system operated as it should and we can operate as normal.
"A small leakage of refrigerant into the loch was controlled and has dispersed. There was no risk to the public.
"We are working closely with Police Scotland to determine who is responsible for this crime".
It is the second time in less than a year that the Centre has been targeted by people trying to cause damage.
Windows in the Centre were maliciously smashed last autumn by an intruder.
