A BALLINGRY man who repeatedly threatened his former partner with violence has been jailed.
The threats included to “smash her jaw”, “petrol bomb her house” and “take her head clean off”.
He also threatened a friend of the woman and police officers.
Keiran Connelly, 28, from Ballingry and currently a prisoner, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
He previously admitted that on April 17 at Acorn Court, Glenrothes, he acted in a racially aggravated manner towards a man by shouting, swearing, making threats of violence and offensive remarks.
He also admitted that on May 5, he made threats to damage property, shouted, swore and made threats of violence towards his ex-partner during phone calls to her.
Connelly further admitted that on the same day at Ballingry Crescent, Ballingry, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, brandished a broken paving slab and petrol cannister, made threats of violence towards police officers and a dog, challenged police to fight then punched and kicked a shed.
In the first incident, Connelly had threatened to kill the man and also told him to “go back where you came from” after wrongly believing he was his ex-partner’s new boyfriend.
Sheriff Charles MacNair told him: “Despite what you may have heard on the news about events in America, in this country that behaviour is criminal and will not be tolerated in this society.”
The Court heard this was Connelly’s third conviction for domestic abuse against two different partners.
Depute fiscal, Azrah Yousaf, said his former partner was “frightened of the accused” and that a non-harassment order was being sought.
Sheriff MacNair told Connelly he had a “history of violence and disorder”.
He jailed him for 20 months backdated to May 7 when he was remanded in custody.
He also imposed a supervised release order and a two-year non-harassment order.
