CARDENDEN woman Ann Dickson was so impressed by an advert about cancer awareness after her brother conducted the condition she wanted to do something to raise some money to help the fight to develop cures.
With the help of some friends she organised a head shaving session at the the Cardenden Community Shop and it all had a rather unusual ending.
Said Ann: "A few months ago, while I was watching a programme on TV there was an advert for Cancer Research... and suggestions about what we can do as individuals to raise awareness awareness about Cancer and possibly raise some money too.
"This inspired me as my brother is currently undergoing treatment for Cancer, and after watching the advert I decided that I would organise a sponsored head shave and raise money for Cancer Awareness".
Along with support from the Community Shop, where Ann volunteers, they helped her print sponsor forms and assist with the fundraising.
To date Ann has raised a very impressive £209 with more money to come and the event had a very good audience at the Community Shop.
And at the end of it all Ann was presented with a rather impressive wig by her friends to replace her cut hair!
