A KELTY man has been caught drink-driving for the third time.
Barry Stein, 42, of Kingsland Terrace, was more than four times over the limit.
He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted that on April 29 in Cocklaw Street, Kelty, he drove a car after consuming excess alcohol.
His reading was 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
He also admitted failing to appear for a Court hearing on May 28.
The Court was told it was Stein’s third drink-driving conviction.
Depute fiscal, Dev Kapadia, said that police received information at 12.20am that a man was driving after consuming alcohol.
Police began looking for the vehicle in the Kelty area and stopped Stein.
Defence solicitor, Barbara Collie, said her client and his partner had been having a drink together, began arguing and she asked him to leave the house.
“He felt he had no option but to drive,” she added.
However, Sheriff James MacDonald told Stein: “That was patently not the case."
Sheriff MacDonald imposed a community payback order with 226 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.
