HILL of Beath Main Street will be closed for ten days starting from next midweek and the diversion in place will affect bus services.
Fife Council will be installing new traffic calming features on Main Street, from Swinton's place to the B981 Broad Street. Work will start on Tuesday July 16 and will take around ten days.
Cllr Altany Craik, convener of the Economy, Tourism, Strategic Planning and Transportation Committee, said: “We maintain over 2,400 km of roads in Fife.
"Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads on a daily basis, which is why this type of maintenance work is so essential.”
To carry out these works safely the road will be closed from Tuesday July 16 until complete. A sign posted diversion will be in place directing traffic via the B981 Broad Street and Woodend Place.
Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Bus services will be disrupted during these works. For more information contact Stagecoach on 01592 645680 or visit www.stagecoachbus.com
Cllr Craik concluded: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we will try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is greatly appreciated.”
