NEW Lochore Welfare boss Andy Healey is aiming to ensure that the base is laid this season to take the club forward to a successful future.
The former Kirkcaldy YM boss and Kennoway Star Hearts assistant manager, took over a few weeks ago when Lee Dair indicated he was leaving the Central Parkers and he has had to start from virtually base camp.
However, he received an early boost when he was able to complete the re-signing of Welfare leading scorer James Adam and then he set about building a new squad.
Also the club needs to augment the number of committee people at Central Park.
Chairman John Kirkland said: “We are looking for new people to come onto the committee and help make things run efficiently.
“It is excellent that we have been able to attract Andy as manager and in a short space of time he has shown that he can build a squad that can compete in the North Division.
“We would be delighted to hear from anyone who wants to join the committee and they could contact us through the Welfare Social Club.”
Andy Healey is aware of the challenge that awaits him and said: “It is excellent to able to keep James Adam with the club for he is a well known goal scorer in the junior game.” He then added Keiron Hay, Ben Kinninmonth, Grant Paige and Calum Reid.
“The aim is to create a squad which has a strong element of youth with some key experienced players which can compete well in the division,” he added.
He also wants to see the Welfare get closer to the Lochore-Crosshill community: “I always believe it is important that a junior club is very much part of its local community and that is the aim I will want to develop.
“The players will also want to be very much part of this so we are all keen to do as much as we can to make this happen.”
TIMES PREDICTION: The new look Welfare squad will find it difficult in the early stages but once they settle they can win games and enjoy mid table status.
