COWDENBEATH will have to climb Ladbrokes League 2 without the services of Bulgarian talisman Nikolay Todorov.
Todorov and frontman Aaron Murrell's loan spells with Cowdenbeath FC have ended and they have returned to their parent clubs - Hearts and Dundee United respectively.
Todorov made 20 appearances for the Blue Brazil, most of them as a central defender, although he arrived as a striker.
His 100 per cent approach made him popular with the fans and he will be a loss as the club battles to re-establish itself in the division.
Murrell did not start a game for the Blues and found it hard to force his way into the team with Kris Renton, Craig Johnston,Cammy Muirhead and Gary Glen playing regularly.
Director David Allan said: "We thank them both for their efforts in a Blue Brazil jersey - with particular thanks to Nikolay who was ready and willing to assist us in an unfamiliar centre-back role for part of his stay".
Meanwhile midfielder Chris Turner’s contract has been cancelled by mutual agreement with immediate effect.
He proved to be a real disappointment, having come to Cowdenbeath with a good reputation from his days with Dumbarton.
Their movement creates spaces for other players to be brought in to strengthen manager Liam Fox's squad.
