A NEW era is set to dawn at Keir’s Park as Hill of Beath Hawthorn have appointed a new manager for the first time in the club’s 40 year history.
The former Scottish Junior Cup holders had to make the change when the man who bossed the club since its foundation in 1975 decided that at 65 years of age the time had come to call it a day. Jock Finlayson announced his decision on Wednesday and the club approached assistant manager and former captain Bobby Wilson to take over.
Bobby told the committee of his decision to take on the task on Friday following the four decade Finlayson era and club chairman Dave Baillie was delighted to get the news.
“Jock decided that the the time was right to retire from the manager’s job after four decades at the helm,” said Dave, “Bobby has been part of the club for a great many years and has worked closely with Jock as a coach and player and knows the aspirations we have here.
“We are very pleased that Bobby has accepted the opportunity to be only the second Haws manager in the history of the club.”
